James Poff joined IBG Partners, LLC in 2000 as Senior Vice President –Acquisitions and Asset Management.  He brings over 25 years of experience in a variety of real estate disciplines including asset management, development and finance.  In addition to performing other acquisition and asset management duties, Mr. Poff has leased 350,000 square feet and sold 750,000 square feet of IBG property since joining the firm.

Prior to joining IBG, Mr. Poff served as the Senior Underwriting Officer for the Hospitality Division of GMAC Commercial Mortgage engaged in the underwriting and closing of over $1.5 billion in a variety of hotel loans while overseeing a team of 12 professional located in three cities across the U.S.  This was preceded by his role as Senior Asset Manager at J.E. Robert Companies where he managed up to $400 million real estate portfolios for major Wall Street firms such as Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs. Development experience includes his position as Senior Development Manager at The Koll Company in San Diego where he was responsible for all development and financing aspects of a downtown high-rise office building and several industrial projects.

Mr. Poff holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hon.) degree from the University of Manitoba and an M.B.A. from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
