In 2005, IBG purchased the historic Yale Steam Laundry site on New York Avenue in the vibrant Mt. Vernon Square area of downtown Washington, D.C. The site is just 3-blocks from the new D.C. Convention Center and includes a 30,000 SF industrial laundry building and a total of 70,000 square feet of land. Construction is near completion on the first phase of what will be a 359-unit project.
The 359 units will be divided between the historic Yale Steam Laundry building (16 lofts), a new Yale East tower (133 units) and a new Yale West tower (210 units). Amenities will include a state-of-art fitness center, a rooftop swimming pool and sundeck, a billiards lounge, and concierge services. Delivery of the historic building and Yale East tower are expected in late 2007. Completion of the Yale West tower is expected in Spring 2009.
